This guide provides the following information:
Creating departments
Watch this video to see how to create a department or follow the steps below it.
Navigate to the correct window
- Navigate to Ledger / Ledger Maintenance / Department Maintenance.
Enter the department details
- Enter the project code in the Department text box.
- Press Enter.
- Check that the following message box appears: The department does not exist - do you want to create it?
- Click the Yes button.
- Enter the department's description in the Description text box.
Save the department
- Click the Accept button.
Reporting options available for departments
There are 2 reports you can view when it comes to departments:
Department Enquiry

Navigate to the correct window
- Navigate to Ledger / Department Enquiry.
Enter the report parameters
- Select the financial year from the Year dropdown list.
- Enter the department code in the Department text box.
- Select the appropriate period range from the From Period and To Period dropdown lists.
Generate the report
- Click the Accept button.
Print the report
This step is optional.
- Click the Print button.
- Specify the print options.
- Click the OK button.
Income statement per department
Watch this video to see how to view an income statement per department or follow the steps below it.
Navigate to the correct window
- Navigate to Ledger / Reports / Income Statement per Department.
Enter the report parameters
- Select the financial year from the Year dropdown list.
- Select the appropriate period from the Period dropdown list.
- Enter (or select) the department code in the Department text box.
- Enter the date to which the income statement applies in the Date text box.
- Select to include zero accounts, if applicable.
Generate the income statement
- Click the Accept button.
Print the income statement
This step is optional.
- Click the Print button.
- Specify the print options.
- Click the OK button.
