Creating a clone of an existing document layout

Navigate to the correct window

  1. Navigate to System / Printing and Utilities / Form Layouts / Form Designer.

Select the document layout

  1. Click on the New button.
  2. Choose the desired document type from the drop-down list.
  3. Enter a name in the Layout name text box.
  4. Change the number of item lines to be used in the document by replacing the number in the Number of detail lines text box.
  5. Change the number of default copies to be printed by replacing the number in the Default number of copies text box.
  6. Untick the User can change copies when printing checkbox if you do not want to allow users to be able to change the number of copies when the document is printed.
  7. Tick the Use as default layout checkbox if you want to apply the new layout as a default to the relevant document.
  8. Untick the Print form to text printers checkbox if the form layout is not intended for text printers.
  9. Tick the Print accompanying layouts by default checkbox if accompanying layouts should be printed by default.
  10. Select the required lines per inch from the Details/Form Lines options. On text forms, the selected lines per inch will be used for the entire form while on graphic forms it will only be used for the detail area.
  11. Click the Accept button.

Create the clone document

  1. Click the Import button.
  2. In the new window that appears, select the appropriate document type from the top drop-down list.
  3. Select the appropriate layout name from the Layout name drop-down list.
  4. Click the Accept button.
  5. Make any required changes to the document layout.
  6. Click the Save button.
