Creating a customer credit note

Navigate to the correct window

  1. Navigate to Debtors / Credit Notes / Enter Credit note.

Call up the appropriate invoice

  1. Enter the appropriate invoice number in the Invoice No text box.

Enter the credit note details

  1. Enter the credit note date in the Date text box.
  2. Enter a customer reference in the Customer Ref text box, if applicable.

Make any required changes

This step is optional, if you do not need to change anything you can remove items not to be credited if you so wish or just process the credit note.
  1. You can make changes to any field that doesn't have blue text, depending on how you have set your default text in the Customize window.

Remove items not to be credited

This step is optional, if you do not need to remove anything you can just process the credit note.
  1. Select an item that shouldn’t be credited.
  2. Press the Delete button on the keyboard.

Process the credit note

  1. Click the Accept button.
  2. Make any required changes in the Enter Message window and click the Accept button.
  3. Print the credit note by specifying the print options and clicking the OK button, or click the Cancel button to close the window without printing.
Note that if the credit note contains serialised items, you have to scan the serial numbers so that Fincon Accounting can know that those specific serial numbers have been returned.
