There are two ways in which you can create customer credit notes:
- Manually creating the credit note
- Scanning the credit note (this is needed when the invoice contains serialised items)
Manually creating a credit note

- Navigate to Debtors / Credit Notes / Enter Credit Note.
Call up the appropriate invoice number
- Enter the appropriate invoice number in the Invoice No text box.
Enter the credit note details
- Enter the credit note date in the Date text box.
- Enter a customer reference in the Customer Ref text box, if applicable.
Make the required changes
This step is optional, if you do not need to change anything you can remove items not to be credited if you so wish or just generate the credit note.
- Change the quantity of the appropriate item in the QUANTITY column, if required.
- Select an item that shouldn’t be credited, if required.
- Press the Delete button on the keyboard.
Generate the credit note
- Click the Accept button.
- Change the required information on the Enter Message window and click the Accept button.
- Specify the print options and click the OK button, or click the Cancel button to close the window without printing.
Scanning a credit note

Navigate to the correct window
- Navigate to Debtors / Credit Notes / Scan Credit Note.
Enter the credit note details
- Enter the credit note date in the Date text box.
- Enter a customer reference in the Customer Ref text box, if applicable.
Scan the serial numbers
- Click the Scan Items button.
- Click the Allocate button.
- Enter (or scan) the serial number of the item in the Current Serial Number text box.
- Click the Close button.
Make the required changes
- Change the quantity of the appropriate item in the QUANTITY column, if required.
- Change the unit price of the corresponding item in the PRICE EXCL column, if required.
- Change the tax code of the corresponding item in the TC column, if required.
Generate the credit note
- Click the Accept button.
- Change the required information on the Enter Message window and click the Accept button.
- Specify the print options and click the OK button, or click the Cancel button to close the window without printing.
