Creating a credit claim

Credit claims have no financial implications. They are only used to change the ageing and balance on the account and to aid with payment allocations.

The credit claim should be finalised or cancelled when the actual credit note is processed.

Navigate to the correct window

  1. Navigate to Debtors / Credit Claims / Enter Credit Claim.

Enter the credit claim details

  1. Enter the appropriate invoice number in the Invoice Number text box.
  2. Enter the claim amount in the Claim Amount text box.
  3. Enter the exchange rate in the Exchange Rate text box, if applicable.
  4. Enter the claim date in the Claim Date text box.
  5. Select the appropriate claim period from the Period dropdown list.
  6. Enter an appropriate comment in the Comment text box, if you so wish.
The amount must be entered as a debit or credit, (normal) as it should appear on the account. No automatic conversion will be done.

Save the credit claim

  1. Click the Accept button.
  2. Specify the print options and click the OK button, or click the Cancel button to close the window without printing.
