Deleting term codes involves a two-step process:
- First, you mark the term code as deleted.
- Second, you reindex and pack your system, effectively wiping the term codes from the database.
If you stop after step 1, you can go back later and recall the term code, allowing you to use it once more.

Delete the term code
Navigate to the correct window
- Navigate to System / System Maintenance / Delete Codes/Accounts/Item Numbers.
Display the term codes that can be deleted
- Select the Term Codes option from the dropdown list.
- Click the Accept button.
Delete the term code
Only term codes that have not been used on any transactions can be deleted and, hence, be displayed.
- Select the appropriate term code and click the Delete button.
- Click the Close button.
Reindex and pack the data files
- Navigate to System / System Maintenance / Reindex Files.
- Select the System Files and Pack data files checkboxes.
- Click the Accept button.
- Wait for the reindex process to finish running.
