In order to change the main company's name you will require assistance from the Fincon Accounting support team, the steps will be discussed below. To change a sub-company's name this assistance is not required.
Main Company
Request the go-ahead with Fincon Accounting
- Send a request for a name change by email to support@fincon.co.za.
- Wait for a response from a support agent stating that you can go ahead with the name change.
If you could, please send a screenshot of your About Fincon window (Help / About Fincon), as well as the new name you wish to change the existing name to.
Change the company name
- Make sure you are logged on to the main company, i.e. the first one on the list.
- Navigate to File / Registration / Change Company Name.
- Enter the new name in the Company Name text box.
- Click on the Get Registration Info button to update the company configuration.
- The following message box will appear: The company configuration has been updated, click the OK button.
If you don’t have a list of companies to choose from when opening Fincon Accounting, it means that you only have one company loaded, so the above doesn’t apply to you.

Sub-company
Change the company name
- Make sure you are logged on to the main company, i.e. the first one on the list.
- Navigate to File / Company Maintenance.
- Select the company name you wish to change.
- Click the Set Name button.
- Type in the new name.
- Click the OK button.
- Click the Close button to exit the screen.
If you don’t have a list of companies to choose from when opening Fincon Accounting, it means that you only have one company loaded, so the above doesn’t apply to you.
