Step 1: Enter the SMTP server settings
The first step in the process of being able to send emails from Fincon Accounting is to enter your SMTP server settings in Fincon Accounting.
The SMTP settings that have to be entered consist of the following:
1. The address of the SMTP mail server
2. The username required to log into the SMTP server (if any)
3. The password required to log into the SMTP server (if any)
4. The port number for outgoing emails
5. Whether the service provider requires TLS to be used
This information can normally be obtained from your IT administrator or your email service provider.
Once you have all the information necessary, you are ready to enter the SMTP server settings.
Step 2: Enter the user's email information
The second step is to link all the relevant users to the SMTP server settings you entered in step 1, and to enter all their relevant information.
The user information that has to be entered consist of the following:
1. The username required to log into the SMTP server (if any).
2. The password required to log into the SMTP server (if any).
3. The sender’s name.
4. The sender’s email address.
There is additional information you can enter for the user, which can then be used when setting the document text for emails. This information includes:
1. The sender’s job title.
2. The sender’s telephone number.
3. Six user-defined fields.
